The problem is inherent to subscript_in_plots() only
This works
boxplot(Myh3_Expression_log2_ls, col = colors_age, pchlwd = 2, jitter = .4, pch=18, ylab= expression('title'^2), main=expression('title'^2))
But subscript_in_plots()
uses bquote
function (prefix = "log", subscr = 2, quantity = "arbitrary units")
{
formatted_string = bquote(.(prefix)[.(subscr)] * "(" * .(quantity) *
")")
}
from markdownreports.
Requires a new subscript_in_plots() function without bquote
expression(paste(delta^"44/42", "Ca" ["915a"], " (‰)"))
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4423130/use-a-variable-within-a-plotmath-expression
subscript_in_plots2 <- function(prefix="log", subscr=2, quantity="arbitrary units") { # Returns a formatted string that you feed to main, xlab or ylab parameters of a plot
# formatted_string = bquote(.(prefix)[.(subscr)]*'('*.(quantity)*')')
formatted_string = expression(prefix [subscr] ( (quantity) ))
}
