Some of them stuck at this point and fall back to rootfs: and some of them start booting after 30 second of showing this error.

This same problem also happens on artix-plasma-openrc-20200210-x86_64.iso. I'm not too knowledgeable about linux isos, but this one seems strange since artix is supposed to be as close to Arch as possible but without systemd. This thread says artix-cinnamon-s6-20200210-x86_64.iso works, but in my experience artix-plasma-openrc-20200210-x86_64.iso does not.

I tried doing the USB on windows and with another iso that I had, and didn't have a single problem. I think the iso was corrupted

OK. This distro need to be adapted.

Ventoy must find the initrd from the ISO file and patch it. For standard arch iso this is arch/boot/x86_64/archiso.img and the location will be different for different distros.
But this is not a big problem, it will be OK after I specify the right location which will have few changes for one fixed distro.

Hi there.
Tested Memtest86+ V5.31b and Memtest86+ V5.01 (https://www.memtest.org/#downiso) - all working in BIOS mode and with memdisk enabled. Without memdisk they wouldn't even load.

Also tested Memtest86 8.4 for UEFI in iso format (this is unsupported version - https://www.memtest86.com/downloads/memtest86-iso.zip) - works fine in UEFI only and w/ or w/o memdisk enabled.

So it may be something about the USB drive (hardware or not plug stable)

I've got them to work. The Memdisk mode must be enabled.

Memtest86 8.4 ISO is supposed to support UEFI, but it does not work at all.

Not on the list, but PopOS 20.04 with Nvidia drivers working on Windows laptop (website is 19.10). Hard disk not detected at first, but just have to turn on AHCI.

When you copy iso file in linux, please be carefull that after the cp cmd finish, the data may still in the buffer, you can use sync to flush the data to the disk.

Anarchy Installer does not work on UEFI. It fails to mount itself due to being unable to properly detect the install medium, I think.

I am able to get Qubes OS and DBAN ISOs to work on a system that only has legacy BIOS.

Both Lakka and LibreELEC generic IMGs gave me an error message about IMG is not supported.

Another issue about Porteus and Aporteus : if we copy ISO via dd or other tools or copy ISO contents to EFI partition of USB work perfectly in UEFI.

Aporteus which is Arch Linux based version of Porteus , is best , fastest and greatest distro i ever met , it's fully modular , supports bleeding edge techs like zstd , have a tool to very easily compile and use latest version of released or RC kernel directly from kernel.org ( Kernel Builder ) , have a tool to generate daily fresh ISO so all the packages are daily and fresh ( Aporteus ISO Builder ) , you can have multi desktops on a ISO and on boot select whatever you like , it has naturally Copy to RAM feature with flag to copy specific modules only so linux run at huge speed , a lot of tools and softwares along side mini size ISO , and it use very very low ram and ISO size, You can generate ISO with whatever language you like to distro have.

Hi MFlisar , if you want use that now with HBCD you must extract the iso but the ventoy.dat on the root of the iso recreate the iso with example: ntlite oder oder tools and than you are able to boot from.

Acronis True Image 2020 24.6.1 Build 25700 in Legacy is working in Memdisk mode on 1.0.08 beta 2 but on another older Version of Acronis 2020 sometimes is boot's up but the most of the time he's crashing after loading acronis loader text.

On one of my Laptop Problem with HBCD_PE_x64.iso Uefi on start from Desktop error with Autoit v3: Pintool.exe Application error. That error i have also with WinPE 10 Sergei is booting with that error ( on Skylake Processor). On my other Laptop from other Manufacturer is booting without error. (Haswell Processor) Tested in Memdisk and normal mode with 1.0.08b2

Tested below ISOs on HP ENVY x360- 13-ag0007au (1st-gen Ryzen Mobile convertible laptop, BIOS F.46 Rev.A) with Ventoy 1.0.08 final release in UEFI secure boot mode:

• Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-32-1.6.iso: Works fine, all hard drive can be properly detected.
• Win10_1909_Chinese(Simplified)_x64.iso: Works fine, all hard drive can be properly detected.

I installed Ventoy to my U-disk on my Surface Pro 6. It seems that this issue only exists on my Surface Pro 6, but Manjaro's ISOs can boot through ventoy on my Surface. I tried it on another computer which supports both legacy and uefi boot, and UbuntuDDE's ISO successfully launched. However, I cannot boot from my U-disk in legacy mode. It seems that the computer cannot find MBR on my U-disk.

I'm on B450 AMD platform, pure uefi, used linux usb script. I have just tried it on X230 Thinkpad, pure uefi, exactly the same error. I'm not sure if there is anything I could have done wrong.

I have test en_windows_10_business_editions_version_2004_x64_dvd_d06ef8c5.iso for me it's ok to. Have also after that implement Languagepacks an other things and is working withouts problems.
But what is not working is if you edit bcd to show menu or add entry's then windows installer boot but don't find the wim file is the same problem that windows10_x86_x64.iso has. For now it's not compatible both arch iso's. ( Tested on Intel Platforms for now)

I want to report, that I successfully tested the following images:

Hardware
Lenovo G510 (UEFI, secure boot disabled)

livedvd-amd64-multilib-20160704.iso (latest gentoo iso)
manjaro-kde-19.0.2-200311-linux54.iso

I also created a persistent image by using the following commands:

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=1persistent_images/global_image.img bs=1M count=2048 conv=notrunc
$ sync
$ mkfs.ext2 -E nodiscard -L global_image 1persistent_images/global_image.img

When I booted into livedvd-amd64-multilib-20160704.iso, I could see the symlink /dev/mapper/vtoy_persistent and I could successfully mount it but it did not work for the other image files; at least I could not find such a symlink.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. This is a weird behaviour.

1- booting macOS needs a special bootloader like Opencore or Clover , and Ventoy is just using Grub2.
2 - Ventoy currently doesn't support booting from img files.

In cases where there is an image in .raw format with opencore or clover, would it be possible? And is it possible to add support for ChromeOS images, such as those from Project Croissant?

Some of them stuck at this point and fall back to rootfs: and some of them start booting after 30 second of showing this error.

Is it possible that something like set archisolabel= and isolabel= may need to be set in grub? Depending on the distro.

Unsupported ISO: LaoMaoTao_9.5_2007.iso and DaBaiCai_6.0_2007.iso, it's the same.
Ventoy can't boot from the WinPE named Laomaotao with UEFI.
I downloaded the tool of Laomaotao, and output the ISO file by it, then I copy it to my U-Disk, but when I selected the ISO, it just shows "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." it's not works when I press any key, few seconds later, it backs to the ISO choice menu.
I tried it in Legacy mode, it works good. If I use that ISO boot in VMWare with UEFI, it also works, and I tried to use the Laomaotao tool to make a boot U-Disk, there's no any problems. Only I use Ventoy to boot from this ISO, it not works.

I have this problem too, the Windows image appears in the list, but when I select it, it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor in top left. I have tested windows 10 2004 x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64.

I tested out 9front-7781.38dcaeaa222c.amd64.iso.gz from http://9front.org/releases/ but it didn't boot. I got a black screen with a cursor and that's it.

tails-amd64-4.9.iso seems to not work with UEFI boot, additionally, I tried loading Manjaro with memboot and it seemed to freeze up. Works fine without memboot.
