I cant share the GPS device... about hsmm-pi HOT 4 CLOSED

Ive let it run for 2 days now and it dose seam to be a timing issue. The aprs server was able to get the gps location once. http://aprs.fi/info/graphs/a/KJ6DZB-10 but not every 20min as it should!
Is gdsd poling the device and how often? ( can that be a user definable in web UI ) or is it the "get location command" ?

I like the idea of running an Xastir host on the Pi. The gpsd daemon is meant to address exactly the problem you're facing: multiple devices needing access to the GPS receiver, but only one application being able to access the device at a time. Have you tried configuring Xastir to access the GPS receiver using GPSD:

Please give that a try if you haven't already done so.

The was EZ! I missed that...gpsd being able to share the connection.

kj6dzb-10 is UP its got an auto reply message at the moment. Im working on perlaprs, on the back side of Xastir to script messages server responses.
