@Badassito hello! 😊 We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with the Ultralytics HUB. From your description, it seems like an intermittent communication problem could be at the root of the "Unknown error occurred" messages you're seeing.

Since you've already tried the most common troubleshooting steps like disconnecting/reconnecting the runtime and starting with a fresh model, we suggest the following steps as a next course of action:

  1. Check for Service Updates: Occasionally, these issues can be caused by temporary service outages or maintenance. Ensure there are no announced disruptions that might be affecting the HUB.

  2. Network Stability: Ensure your network connection is stable. Google Colab, in particular, requires a consistent internet connection to maintain its connection to the runtime environment.

  3. Browser Console Logs: Sometimes, the browser's console (accessible typically via F12 or right-click > "Inspect" > "Console" tab) might provide additional insights into what's going wrong. Look for any error messages that occur when you face the issue and include them if you reach out for further help.

  4. Contact Support with Details: If the issue persists, it might require a deeper look from our side. Please gather as much information as possible, including the steps leading up to the error, any specific time stamps, and the browser console logs mentioned above. This detailed information will be crucial for diagnosing the problem effectively.

For any further assistance or to provide additional details, don't hesitate to reach out through the Ultralytics HUB issues page. Your input helps us improve and we're here to ensure you have the best experience possible with the HUB.

Thank you for your patience and for being a part of the Ultralytics community! We appreciate your efforts in troubleshooting this issue. 🌟

Check for Service Updates

There doesn't seem to be any

Network Stability

I never disconnected from colab. And also the colab notebook can run even when I'm not personally connected to it, so I fail to see how that matters.

Do I send an email or continue with the issue tracker?

It seems to happen whenever the epochs finish too quickly. I suspect I'm hitting a rate limit of some sort. Is there a way to temporarily lift the limits while I run 2 or 3 additional tests?

Hi @Badassito! 👋

Thanks for your follow-up and clarifications. If you suspect the issue occurs due to epochs finishing too quickly and possibly hitting a rate limit, it sounds like we're narrowing down the potential cause.

Regarding how to proceed:

  • Support Channel: Continuing with the issue tracker is the best approach. It helps us keep all relevant information in one place and allows other users who might face the same issue to benefit from the discussion.

  • Rate Limits: The HUB typically implements rate limits to ensure service quality for all users. While we don't offer the ability to temporarily lift these limits on an individual basis, understanding your use case better through the issue tracker might allow us to offer a workaround or suggest an optimization to your workflow.

Could you please provide additional details about your specific use case, such as the number of epochs and their typical completion time, in the issue tracker? This information will help us understand your situation better and explore possible solutions.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation! 🌟
