Celery integration about django-post_office HOT 5 CLOSED

Yeah use django-celery-email
and then add

POST_OFFICE = {
    'EMAIL_BACKEND': 'djcelery_email.backends.CeleryEmailBackend'
}

to your settings
(obviously only 'now' priority tasks are queued)

I use RQ instead of Celery, but from a quick read of Celery Docs something like this should work:

from post_office import mail

@celery.task
def async_send_mail(*args, **kwargs):
    kwargs['priority'] = 'now'
    return mail.send(*args, **kwargs)

async_send_mail.delay(
    ['[email protected]'],
    '[email protected]',
    template='welcome_email'
)

I had the same issue - turns out celery is missing a database column for one of the tables in the migrations.

Drop table celery_taskmeta and then run syncdb --all. This fixed the issue for me.
