Dear HPC Community,

We have observed an issue affecting emails sent from @uabmc.edu addresses to [email protected]. We have noticed emails from these addresses do not create support tickets, we see that this issue is only with first-time @uabmc.edu senders.

To ensure your support requests are processed without delay, we advise you subscribe to the address by following instructions found in our docs here: [docs link]

If you would prefer not to do the above, an alternative would be to lookout for a confirmation email from [email protected], when you send an email. Kindly acknowledge this email, so a support ticket can be created.

While we work on a lasting solution to automate the process, these are the ways to ensure your email gets to us.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

To subscribe to hpc-announce using LISTSERV, follow these steps:

  • Compose a New Email: Open your email client and create a new email.

  • Recipient Address: In the "To" field, enter the email address of the LISTSERV server. The email address is [email protected].

  • Subject Line: Leave the subject line blank.

  • Email Body: In the body of the email, type the following command:

    SUBSCRIBE listname YourFirstName YourLastName

Replace listname with hpc-announce, and YourFirstName YourLastName with your actual first and last name.
For example, since you want to subscribe to the list called "hpc-announce" and your name is John Doe, your email body should look like this:

    SUBSCRIBE hpc-announce John Doe

  • Send the Email: Once you've filled in the details, send the email.

You should receive a confirmation email from the LISTSERV server. Follow any additional instructions in that email to complete your subscription
