Chezmoi follows specific rules for resolving the hostname, and calling hostname --fqdn is not one of them (not all systems have a hostname executable).
See #3340, #3300, #3095, #3081, #3054, and #2973 for various discussions and #3082 and #3055 for recent PRs for this.
I don't think that there's a bug here, but if you believe so after reviewing the previous tickets on this, please suggest an approach which does not involve calling hostname.

I see, ok.
I've changed the blocked domains to route to 0.0.0.0 instead of 127.0.0.1, and it works as expected now!
