Could you give an example of how to use the authenticate? At the moment, all the other connection methods return objects while queries/inserts return deferred. It looks like I need to authenticate each time at query time with txmongo, which is a pain - there is no way to check if I am already authenticated.

I had to go back to the synchronous driver.

And I haven't being working on it (neither using mongo) from about a year. Perhaps sometime in the future...
