Reported by cacarlitos on 2012-09-16 17:44 UTC
I tried to install wia on twain on win seven 32 pro and I got 2203 error. Is this normal or is there something I can do? Thank you in advance.By the way i can use hp scanjet 5550c after i installed TWAIN Data Source Manager but when i try to use a agfa snapscan e50 i get a wia driver error (that's why i tried wia on twain).

[Bug] HOW TO VIEW .DS FILES...??? [sf#3]

Reported by copierneteye on 2014-05-21 15:42 UTC
Hi, I am a NETWORK SUPPORT PROFFESSIONAL. I am in the process of using your software 'wia on twain' to create a wia driver from a ricoh twain driver. currently, I am trying to figure out if I have to use visual studio to open up twain.ds to get the data to fill into the wizard or if there is another software that can be used to open up and view the .ds files... please respond at your earliest convenience.

[Bug] Missing documentation [sf#6]

Reported by myasarfr on 2015-04-14 07:35 UTC
I have downloaded WIAonTWAIN in order to use it as a "vitual WIA device".
Unfortunately, it won't work as is.

The documentation should say that you need to install "TWAIN sample Data Source and Application" (the latest available is: twainds.win32.installer.2.1.3.msi).

Also I had to edit the file "TWAINDS_Sample32.ds" to replace the string "TWAIN2 FreeImage Software Scanner" with "TWAIN2 Software Scanner" (it is the product name).

No releases, no instructions aside from build instructions

If I want to compile and build wia-on-twain, I have enough documentation to do so here. But if I'm just a sysadmin trying to make a TWAIN-only scanner work with Windows Fax and Scan (for example) for a desktop user, I have to dig through the repository to find the installer MSI packages.

Is there a simple how-to for such things? Or, once I figure this out, may I add some pages to the Wiki section here for the benefit of others?

[Bug] Canon 6010C [sf#4]

Reported by acundiff on 2014-10-27 18:21 UTC
First, thank you for your hard work on this project. I'm hoping this will save me a lot of time. To give you a little background, I coded a Silverlight application that must run in-browser and scan documents. After a little bit of admin setup, this works great when a WIA driver is provided by the manufacturer of the scanner. However, a client of mine has a Canon DR6010C. Apparently, Canon doesn't provide WIA drivers. I was hoping I would be able to use this project to wrap the Canon TWAIN driver.

I used twacker to get the details of the device and copied it into the three TWAIN fields on page 1 on the wizard. Then, I used device manager to get the VID and PID of the scanner. I then built the project and copied the 64bit installer to the client machine. I installed the driver, but nothing changed Device Manager. I uninstalled the original device under "Imaging Devices" and I tried to install the new driver by browsing for the files installed. After I manually installed the driver, it was left in an error state with a code of 10.

I hope I understand the point of this project correctly and thank you for your time.

I attached a couple screenshots to see what is going on.

[Bug] Unable to retrieve picture from device [sf#7]

Reported by albundy33 on 2016-05-27 08:38 UTC
I've successfully installed (with disabled signature check) wia on twain on windows 10 pro 64bit and can see the device as scanner.

But when I try to scan from this device (e.g. with paint) I get the message "Unable to retrieve picture from device".

What can I do to get the device working?

Al

No binaries?

Looks like its all for coders. No binaries? Seems it would be useful but not able to build it
