Okay, just committed this so initialization of routing is as described above.
This leaves the I18N class not doing much, only solving a backward dependency of the i18n project on MVC (via the MvcHtmlStringFormatter class). Looking into the use of MvcHtmlStringFormatter, it is used to wrap output of GetText with MvcHtmlString, although is not employed consistently, only by the DataAnnotation classes.
So the DataAnnotation classes are dependent on I18N.Register() being called and that is it. Not sure why DataAnnotation needs to wrap the GetText string with MvcHtmlStringFormatter while nothing else does. Anyone?
