Ok, I now check for a sequences.nin file.
Also, I only print corrupt if --debug is supplied.

Hello,
I've got the same error here.
I used conda method first to install it and got @Slugger70 error message.
Then I installed it from source via git clone and downloaded version 0.6 and got this:
lichtenstein@impam2:/share/apps/abricate$ ./bin/abricate --list
Database abricate has no sequences, please try: abricate-get_db --db abricate

so I tried:
./bin/abricate-get_db --db abricate
ERROR: Unknown --db 'abricate', choose from: argannot card ncbi ncbibetalactamase plasmidfinder resfinder vfdb

@glichtenstein you can safely ignore it. just run abricate. there is no abricate database.
