I can confirm that we’re not abandoning this effort. Right now our team has a great deal of other tree-sitter languages to deal with, and I regret that this has landed on the backburner. I’m hoping to have a chance to review your contributions in the next few weeks.
Can you describe what you mean specifically by the scanner-layout issues?

@clojj thanks for this issue. As @patrickt mentioned, we're planning on working on tree-sitter-haskell
but our focus has been elsewhere. There are still issues with the external scanner that need to be resolved before this parser is more reliable (along with support of new language extensions outlined in the issues @patrickt has opened).
I can't give a good estimate on when work on this grammar will resume in earnest at this time, but in the meantime if you've got spare cycles we'd welcome any contributions!
Closing this issue out for now, but if there are other questions or concerns please let us know.

I wasn't referring to haskell-tree-sitter and my PR there... it can wait and it needs some cleanup I think.
My question was strictly about the Haskell parser and it's special scanner... it seems to be the main source of issues in this repo.
Glad to hear that this effort continues at some point in the future !
My main focus with the other repo (haskell-tree-sitter) is in parsing Haskell and I noticed a decrease in momentum here, as well as some open issues.
My question was very general, thanks for responding.
