Some notes on what I was able to do / not do on windows:
Steps to get working:
1- install cgywin
in it
- python 2.7.x
- wget
- go lang ? (if building)
- git (if building)
2- install go lang
3- pulled down cameron's fork of logstash forwarder, built
go build -o logstash-forwarder (see linked file)

THIS WILL EXECUTE
THINGS LEFT
- make an install script that works on windows (no such thing as sudo)
- how do we add it as a service, maybe a solution (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/logstash-users/EbZNabxie9g)

ran into this issue elastic/logstash-forwarder#272
will try to incorporate pull request into our fork and re-compile
