thanks for your feedback.
My understanding was that you don't need to save the image but can only have it in the clipboard but I get the following error:
Rmarkdown requires a saved image. Even if you have it in clipboard and clipboard changes it would be lost in rmarkdown as well i guess.
I get the following error: "Please save the file before pasting an image."
That means the package requires you to save the rmarkdown file, so that the package can read the meta data of the file and know where to paste the image.
I think two things could be done:
- First improve the error message.
imageclipr requires you to save the rmarkdown file, so that the package can read the meta data of this rmarkdown file and know where to paste the image. Please save the file first, before proceeding and pasting an image.
- Second, one could automatically save the file via rstudioapi. I am not sure this is always wanted by the user if he/she has some non-persistant changes in the file.
What would be your thoughts on this?

I just drove on vacation so i cant garantuee i will have internet+R+hardly any chance to work on mac. Hopefully, the issue will be solved with this comment anyway!
