After some research, we found out that WebSockets can transfer these types of data by default. As you can see, it transfers strings by converting them to Bytes "under the hood" already. We can then send strings instead of taking strings and then converting them do Bytes, since WebSockets already do that, making this process redundant.
Based on that we decided stick with the following method:

let dataString = `${command}, ${data}`;
ws.send(dataString);
//server
let arrayOfData = receivedString.split(','); // where the first pos is the command
//then we parse it to read the other positions properly
