Is there a way to not display:

in the logs periodically, unless one was actually added or removed?

That's not currently possible, and would go against my general approach to logging in homebridge plugins.

However, one of the enhancements for this plugin on my to-do list is to replace the periodic polling of the appliance list, instead using the PAIRED/DEPAIRED events. Once that is done the add/remove code will only run when an appliance is actually added or removed, so there won't be a periodic log message.
