Ok here is the procedure i used:
- start the docker (all files mapped but feed keys left as default)
- interactively connect via terminal
- ran fr24feed --signup
- copied key into the fr24feed.ini
- ran the flight aware claim link https://flightaware.com/adsb/piaware/claim (though oddly it sees two sites, no idea what that is about) found a page that had the feederID, which oddly i can't find it again.
- destroyed container and recreated with final settings.
- ran new container
- realized my feederid had changed (found page https://flightaware.com/adsb/stats/user/
- to get MLAT working I configured my position in the site #8 above and added these to the fr24feed.ini:
mlat="yes"
mlat-without-gps="yes"
from docker-fr24feed-piaware-dump1090.
