That message is caused by 'share/gpick/init.lua' file not being loaded. This can
happen if you install into directory which is not included in XDG_DATA_DIRS
environment variable

thanks.
I just use "scons install" ,and find that all files intstalled to /share/gpick/. I
think it should be in /usr/share/gpick/
.

Does 100% cpu usage happen when gpick window is either minimized, not focused or with
'Scheme generation' tab switched on? What kind of system do you have (CPU, OS, video
card)? Do you use a composite window manager?
Default installation path should be /usr/local, unless you explicitly change it in
user-config.py file, command line or environment variable

I am using a hp nc6400 laptop (T7400/x1300) with
gentoo(amd64)/xf86-video-ati/awesome/kernel-2.6.31 and not any composite progs
installed.
The cpu usage raise up to 100% immediately when I type gpick and press enter. But
when gpick window lose focus, cpu usage drop to normal. When the cpu usage is 100%,
the htop shows gpick takes 1% and X takes 99%.

I attached a new version with some optimizations and slower update rate. If this
doesn't fix the 100% cpu usage, then this might be a problem with X.Org or video driver

New version is ready. Change 'Edit->Preferences->Refresh rate' to 10Hz for comparison
with previous version

Good job! The new version's cpu usage down to 20% when the refresh rate is 30Hz, and
it's down to 8-16% after set the rate to 10Hz. Thanks!
