from experience, I recommend wiring it up to expect these kinds of permutations:

@iimpulse it would prob be good to allow people to search on the disease id's just like we can search on HP Ids. This will encompass OMIM, ORPHA and MONDO. Let's talk about implementation

@iimpulse @pnrobinson I think it should be possible to search with the numerical part. Nobody is going to enter "OMIM:154700", but rather "154700".
