#16 is live if you want to use it now. Just waiting for the extension to be approved by Firefox.

Yeah, that would be my understanding as well. I'm currently looking to see if there's a nice way to do so without having two manifest files, but we'll see. If you want to make a PR to do this change in a way that ideally doesn't require two copies of src, that would be amazing.

Ok so i asked someone who has brave which is very similar to chrome itself to load the build with browser_specific_settings in manifest.json and it did work but it threw an error when they added it about a unknown manifest key but it did load. But im not sure if it actually could be uploaded to chrome web store though.

For reference, our solution for browser_specific_settings is just to have separate manifest files. Not the most ideal, but chrome unfortunately doesn't respect it.
