How does the problem occur? I haven't encountered this and I am on the same version of Chrome. What OS are you using?
I think something low-level like this should not be exposed to the user. Should just make sure things are well tested. If it's something that should be fixed in Socket.IO, should fix it there, or if it's a Chrome bug, report it there.

It appears that this is no longer an issue for me. So I will close this until it reappears.
