Indeed @techtonik. I think adding named anchors would do the trick.

@techtonik I really should have commented on this, having reviewed the approaches I'm not a massive fan of all of them.
I would prefer to wait for this to be resolved: http://talk.commonmark.org/t/feature-request-automatically-generated-ids-for-headers/115/17

That way we don't have any non standard approach - I will be keen to help resolve that conversation as I have often wanted a standard way to link to ID's of headings.

Is there anybody from us participating in the conversation? If not, then any temporary solution will suffice for now.

@techtonik my worry with the temporary solutions is if the markdown community decide upon a namespace for heading links so #md-python-tap - all links will then break which would be a pain; leading to having to fix all the links to the headings.

I will chime in some thoughts on this as I think it is worth getting the permanent solution.

Right now all links are already broken. =)

@techtonik hahah clearly that isn't true, most links when there is no anchor to link to would be prefixed or suffixed with 'under x heading'. Where as clicking links that have broken anchors is very annoying in long documents. It often happens with Github and similar sites that auto generate the links.

I'm considering putting HTML tags in to the headers however I will give it a few weeks monitoring that thread.
