EC2 instances created but not added to ECS cluster about terraform-aws-ecs HOT 7 CLOSED

You need to tell EC2 instances in user-data that they belong to ECS cluster. Use user_data script like this:

#!/bin/bash
{
  echo "ECS_CLUSTER=${cluster_name}"
} >> /etc/ecs/ecs.config

I had the same problem. Running the script didn't solve the problem. how do i know if the sh script is ran?

@cmosguy no, i gave up. i use the generic terraform resources to solve the problem.

@antonbabenko I believe it's because of changes required by Amazon Linux 2, see similar issue in another repo
