Add inc/dec functions to handlers about stash HOT 4 CLOSED

How would you handle non numeric types? I just looked at Tagcache to see how they handle it and they cast it to an integer. Personally, I think that is a bad idea. If it isn't a numeric type, it should throw an exception. The PHP Memcached lib returns false.

If it's cache miss turn it to zero, if it's a cache hit that isn't an integer than throwing an exception seems legit.

I would think inc would be 1 and dec would be 0 on a miss.

public function inc($key, $offset = 1, $ttl = null, $default_value = 1);
public function dec($key, $offset = 1, $ttl = null, $default_value = 0);

Maybe use the full words.
