just want to know, do you have any idea yet? bc I thought about this a bit
maybe you could do some sort of cameleon type stuff where you get certain buffs if you use stuff like amethysts (speed) obsidian (resistance) diamond (strength) and keep the buffs until you consume another one (even tho strength is not the best one, since you are "passive")
maybe you also only get them for 10 mins and every time you consume smt you get a small sip of milk beforehand (you can also use that to cure some random poison you have, if you want to make it that way "intended gameplay and not being lazy implementing that you only not get the effect you consumed last is getting removed")
could fit bc you cant just instantly consume anything, like a snake snacking on something you have a small deformaty there until completely digested (then the 10 mins would be better anyways)
