Configuring about iproxy HOT 2 CLOSED

You're one up on me... once I got it installed on my iPad2, I followed the configuration instructions carefully but couldn't get it to work even once with my MacBook Air. I was going to try again when I had time, but your report of flaky reliability makes me wonder whether I should bother.

So I ended up figuring out the problem after reading some of the other bug reports. The SOCKS proxy is faulty, and usually only operational for a few moments. Unfortunately, this is the proxy suggested to use in the set-up documentation.
After I noticed that in the other bug reports, I switched to just using the HTTPS proxy (instead of SOCKS), and it has been working fine for me. I should have probably done that from the beginning, but I just didn't suspect an issue with the proxy, I figured it was something I was doing.

Anyway, with that figured out...complete reliability. Has worked 100% of the time.
I just came back from a cabin in VT with my girlfriend's family...I tore my ankle skateboarding so I wasn't able to snowboard and had to stay in the cabin all day. iProxy saved my life...between unlimited internet in the middle of nowhere and my weed stash, it was a good vacation.

This is definitely worth your time, and until the jailbreak exploit is released later this year, probably going to be your only option for truly unlimited tethering. Hope that helps dude.
