Do the groups exist already in the permission system?

Yes they do... I've since downloaded the source for the current dev from github and built the package. It's working just fine with the dev version. one issue I'm seeing right now is that for new installs like mine where there are users on MC that are already members of a group. When one of those users sign in and have not registered on phpbb, they get the _GUEST group added as a secondary group instead of changing their primary group. Maybe there's another way I should be running this. I need it to set everyone who logs in as _GUEST until they register on the forums. once they are registered, MC primary group should follow exactly what phpbb's primary group is set to for that user. I'm currently not utilizing subgroups at all on either side.

Would you mind sharing your config? Obviously remove sensitive info first (ip, user, pass)

Which development branch did you download? Or rather, what does your build of CB report its version as?

That may be a subtle bug that has eluded me twice now in 1.x.

I released a beta copy of 2.0 yesterday, which you can try instead if your server and site isn't in production yet or you could try it on a test copy of your setup. Be warned the configuration files for 2.0 is completely different from 1.x.
