👍 for this, only question I have is, should we do it for Response only, or for View (FOSRestBundle View) only, or both?

Both would be the most flexible, creating a new Event class which allows setting an actual content and getting the View object, when the content is set its used instead of handling the View. When no content is set the View is handled as normal.

Also would recommend passing the Configuration object so that you can pass additional information like the ROLE base-name.

For deleteAction() its also possible to just overwrite the method, but for show and update this would make it much more easy to change there behavior.
