What is the suggested operating system?

Linux and macOS running PHP version >= 7.1. See all requirements.

I tried the docker version and composer breaks with the following:

Composer build can be broken as it was not updated for some time already (PR is more than welcome). You can follow this guide for now to install it locally.

what is a way to deploy this, once it gets installed?

php app/console server:start publisher.local command will run it in dev environment using the built-in PHP web server.

If you want to run it in production then refer to this guide where you need to configure your web server (nginx, apache etc) properly.

We will include your suggestions in the future sprint and will try to update the documentation in the upcoming days.

I'm seeing a few demos of Publisher working but unable to get it working myself. Having the same requirement issues as Markos mentioned in his post.

This did complete without error, but still not seeing all the features that are available in the demo videos.

Hey @CrazyEyesPete - this script installs Superdesk with client from sdsite branch - with Publisher management configured. In installed Superdesk You should have Publisher section in left menu.
