status update: had a family emergency to tend to over the past few days. i'm still catching up on emails (work and otherwise) but the next thing on the agenda is this ticket. will post an update in the next few hours

made minor edits to the codebase (see #19 ) to ensure github and hackage code versions are in sync.
currently unable to upload on hackage due to invalid credentials (i've requested a password reset, but have received no email in the last ~10 minutes). will followup tomorrow. a copy of the tar.gz file (to be uploaded to hackage) is accessible here.

Update: managed to dig up old password. Ran into another error (haskell/hackage-server#235) used the same "fix" of uploading candidate and then publishing to main index manually.
