Yes we can do something like that. That should be pretty simple, and that would let people choose to hide them.

This is much needed feature, as the next/prev buttons causes some confusion in such cases.
We did some usability test, turns out that some users expected that there will be more carousel items (that is they will slide to right/left when clicked on next/prev buttons respectively).
