Hi folks, thank you for your attention, but I have tried to reproduce it in a clean project, and it didn't happen. The error only happens in the mono repo where I'm trying to run. Moving the project to an isolated repo doesn't happen. I'll close the issue since a dependency conflict is occurring in the project, and we have plans to isolate it in the future.

Thank you again!

I'm having trouble reproducing this in a minimal setup, in the following environment:

  System:
    OS: macOS 13.1
    CPU: (10) arm64 Apple M1 Pro
    Shell: 5.8.1 - /bin/zsh
  Binaries:
    Node: 18.19.1 - ~/Library/Caches/fnm_multishells/17606_1713301542941/bin/node
    npm: 10.2.4 - ~/Library/Caches/fnm_multishells/17606_1713301542941/bin/npm
    pnpm: 9.0.1 - ~/Library/Caches/fnm_multishells/17606_1713301542941/bin/pnpm <----- active
  Browsers:
    Chrome: 123.0.6312.124
    Edge: 123.0.2420.97
    Safari: 16.2
  npmPackages:
    @storybook/addon-essentials: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/addon-interactions: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/addon-links: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/addon-onboarding: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/blocks: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/react: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/react-vite: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    @storybook/test: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
    storybook: ^8.0.8 => 8.0.8
  npmGlobalPackages:
    storybook-addon-kit: 0.0.0
    storybook-addon-pseudo-states: 2.2.1

And with:

    "react": "^18.2.0",
    "react-dom": "^18.2.0"
    "@storybook/react": "^8.0.8",
    "@storybook/react-vite": "^8.0.8",
    "@storybook/test": "^8.0.8",
    "@types/react": "^18.2.66",
    "@types/react-dom": "^18.2.22",
    "@vitejs/plugin-react-swc": "^3.6.0",
    "storybook": "^8.0.8",
    "typescript": "^5.2.2",
    "vite": "^5.2.0"

Can you provide a minimal reproduction in a repository that shows this behavior? Check out https://storybook.js.org/docs/contribute/how-to-reproduce for how to get started with a minimal reproduction.
