I have changed the default installation path in 1.1 to the APPDATA directory, and it no longer requires administrator privileges (see #24 for reasons). If you already have it installed, it will attempt to install to your existing directory.
That's why I put a note in the news item, in the changelog, and finally in the installer itself (on the upgrade page), recommending everyone to uninstall old versions and install v1.1 from scratch. Maybe I should have put yet another note when it ultimately fails. :)
But that's fine, some will miss it. Let's leave this ticket open in case other people come here to report it again.
