I just downloaded again and tested it seems to work.

The current version set as initial View Controller the ExampleDynamicMenuViewController, that does not use the ShadesViewController, maybe you are using an old version, in any case both examples should work.

ok i got it to work without updating xcode...I made some changes to the method - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tv cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath inside ShadesViewController.m:

//UITableViewCell *cell = [tv dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier forIndexPath:indexPath];

UITableViewCell *cell = [tv dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
if (cell == nil) {
    cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
}

I do have the latest version as i had zipped it from github..

Ok, now I see the problem. I have used an IOS6 API and you are using IOS5. I am updating the code to support it.
It should be enough to simply add:

UITableViewCell *cell = [tv dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier];
