Sorry for the long delay. By default, phy assumes that templates are "dense", so they are defined on all channels. The templates.npy matrix has a size nb_templates x nb_channels x temporal_width
If you use the sparse_export mode, then you will specifically create this templates_ind.npy file, very useful if you have high number of channels, as if will compress the templates, removing channels where no information is present
from spyking-circus.
