Nope, if the model doesn't have an ID than there's nothing to refresh, the model hasn't been saved yet.

I guess I do not understand the intent of refresh then. I'm using refresh to remove and replace all records in a model as below:

        $.getJSON("/some.api.call", function(response) {
            MyModel.refresh(response);
        });

Lets say response contains an array of some object which does not have an id attribute. In that case, refresh does not treat each object in response as distinct and MyModel.count() is always incorrect.

Is this not a valid use of refresh then?
