I vote for getting rid of it. The idea behind it was to have layer between plugins and the grpc services. I think it is unnecessary, plugins already represent an abstraction layer, adding another one to it increases complexity without benefit. Currently the only thing this layer does is passing the parameters to the plugins so it's more like a wrapper.
