Are you sure your microphone is set as the default (aka fallback) in your PulseAudio configuration?
There's an issue with the Electron apps when microphone doesn't work when the default settings points to wrong device (or doesn't point to the any device at all).

Actually I've also forgot the microphone doesn't work in the production builds, which was an issue with the permission request handler. Currently that's fixed in the sources, so you could wait for the next release, which will have a fix for that + some new features as well.
Right now I'm closing this issue, I'll reopen it if you have any other problems with that.
Also, please provide more information next time, might flag an issues with QUESTION (which means: further information is requested) next time if they don't provide much information (see templates).
