Curious. I'm not positive, but this seems like a server-side error to me. The app doesn't deal with timezones at all. Yik Yak sends times in the format "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:ss", with no mention of timezones. I'd wait a day and see if it resolves itself.

If that's what it sends as, it has to have some time zone that it defaults to (seemingly US Eastern). Might a local time zone check and compensation have to be done?

Actually, I just realized I can test this with the emulator. You're right, this is a bug. With the phone set to Eastern time and the location set to Chicago, the times displayed correctly. With the phone set to Central time and the same location, the times are an hour off. So yeah, Yik Yak probably sends times in EST by default. I live on the East Coast, so it went unnoticed.

I'll fix this in the next release.

Alright, I got it. Yodel now parses dates as America/New_York (Eastern time) and outputs in local time. I tested this with the emulator set to Pacific, Central, and Eastern, and all worked fine. An update with the fix will be in the Store as soon as it passes certification.
