I actually think we shouldn't worry about this until 0.3. Let's release what we've got and then consider this.

I agree on holding off till 0.3. I'm tempted to say we shouldn't do this, as I'd be afraid that we'll be venturing into the space of "too beginner unfriendly", but I don't have any strong opinion.

Let's plan on not doing this unless we get significant feedback supporting it; I proposed it hesitantly, so I think we both have the same temptation to lean away from this change.

For me, CorePrelude would be the perfect prelude if it would contain Foldable and Traversable. You could always restrict some functions to lists in BasicPrelude if you want, but I don't think Foldable and Traversable are beginner unfriendly actually.

Now that normal Prelude is doing this, I think BasicPrelude should. Like @sjoerdvisscher, BasicPrelude would be the perfect prelude for me if it would contain Foldable and Traversable
