Just some quick notes from memory (will pull up the code when possible and reply more properly)
In my case i made the raw message data available from outside the library, simply by changing some methods to public.
The date is available thru the header as well, but that is the "sent date" as set in the header by the sending client.
To get the received date there is need for a extra IMAP command... I remember documenting this but didn't really need it at the time so never implemented that.

Will post more info about this when i can.

As a hack, you could parse the date in the most recent Received: header, although it's better to get the received date from the INTERNALDATE property for the message (iirc, it's been 10 years since I've implemented an IMAP client).
