vddump [-c]
Dump iso9660 volume descriptors in human-readable form.
It reads data from stdin
. Input should be iso9660 VD. Only Primary VD
(ECMA-119, section 8.4) and Supplementary VD (ECMA-119, section 8.5) are
supported.
Single-value fields are printed this way (the parsed value is optional):
-- name offset length (parsed value) xxd-style dump of the raw value
Root Directory Record is a structure, it is expanded with extra indentation.
-h
- Show usage
-c
- Apply colors to field names and parsed values
Dump the first VD (the primary one) from $iso
(partial output):
> dd bs=2048 skip=16 count=1 2>/dev/null < "$iso" | vddump -- code 0 1 (1) 01 . -- id 1 5 4344 3030 31 CD001 -- version 6 1 (1) 01 . -- unused1 7 1 00 . -- system_id 8 32 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 -- volume_id 40 32 5562 756e 7475 2032 342e 3034 204c 5453 Ubuntu 24.04 LTS 2061 6d64 3634 2020 2020 2020 2020 2020 amd64 -- unused2 72 8 0000 0000 0000 0000 ........ -- volume_space_size 80 8 (2985672) c88e 2d00 002d 8ec8 ..-..-.. -- unused3 88 32 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 ................ 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 ................ -- volume_set_size 120 4 (1) 0100 0001 .... -- volume_sequence_number 124 4 (1) 0100 0001 .... -- logical_block_size 128 4 (2048) 0008 0800 .... -- path_table_size 132 8 (3072) 000c 0000 0000 0c00 ........ -- type_l_path_table 140 4 (274) 1201 0000 .... -- opt_type_l_path_table 144 4 (0) 0000 0000 .... -- type_m_path_table 148 4 (20) 0000 0114 .... -- opt_type_m_path_table 152 4 (0) 0000 0000 .... -- root_directory_record 156 34 -- length 0 1 (34) 22 " -- ext_attr_length 1 1 (0) 00 . -- extent 2 8 (35) 2300 0000 0000 0023 #......# -- size 10 8 (2048) 0008 0000 0000 0800 ........ -- date 18 7 (2024-04-24 11:28:51 GMT+00) 7c04 180b 1c33 00 |....3. -- flags 25 1 (2) 02 . -- file_unit_size 26 1 (0) 00 . -- interleave 27 1 (0) 00 . -- volume_sequence_number 28 4 (1) 0100 0001 .... -- name_len 32 1 (1) 01 . -- name 33 1 00 . -- volume_set_id 190 128 ..
