go1.0.2 is too old. Try 1.2 from source.

You'll probably need v1.3 or newer, since we're using http timeouts for a recent feature.

Thank you @naggie and @shazow, I installed latest released Go from source as you suggested and am now using go version go1.4 linux/arm. Now, ssh-chat succeeded to build and run on my Raspberry Pi :)

Excellent! Also it runs far better on the latest versions. :) I ran it on 1.2 for a while and it was leaking memory and such, I think related to one of the std crypto libs we were using.
