Clipping the controller worked?
from prop2mesh.
...so you weren't aware, but yeah you could clip meshes before, then make easy paintjobs.
from prop2mesh.
Must have worked by sheer luck because I didn't implement that myself
I'll try to think of something
To clarify... you're saying clipping the cube would clip the mesh?

huh, cool
from prop2mesh.
yep, 't was fully functional
from prop2mesh.
Bit of a hack but this is what I have so far
Not really sure how to handle it in legacy mode
from prop2mesh.
It should work with visclip adv and properclipping tools
Hopefully that's everything...
from prop2mesh.
had some issues with visclip, but propper clip works good.
vis clip couldn't clip any mesh, however the tool could be used to erase clips even from propper clipping
here's some errors that were sent into the console while using the tools, if it helps :
[Proper Clipping] lua/weapons/gmod_tool/stools/proper_clipping.lua:138: attempt to call field 'Send' (a nil value)
- LeftClick - lua/weapons/gmod_tool/stools/proper_clipping.lua:138
- unknown - gamemodes/sandbox/entities/weapons/gmod_tool/shared.lua:240
[Visual Clip Tool ( Could be broken! )] lua/weapons/gmod_tool/stools/visual_adv.lua:43: bad argument #1 to '__add' (Vector expected, got nil)
- __add - [C]:-1
- Think - lua/weapons/gmod_tool/stools/visual_adv.lua:43
3. unknown - gamemodes/sandbox/entities/weapons/gmod_tool/shared.lua:187 (x7)
from prop2mesh.
Not sure you should have both installed at the same time, although I did and didn't get any of this when using it on p2m.
I did get the second error on server start though, that tool sucks, you can't even visually tell whether you're in clipbyplane or clipbyline mode and according to that error, neither can the tool. Unfortunately looks like there's no way to get preview working for either tool.
What were you doing when this happened?
nevermind, you were in singpleplayer and this actually revealed a problem with more than just those errors
should be fixed now
from prop2mesh.
"normal" visclipping is still shafted with prop2mesh, only just found out this morning when my loco broke completely. I do not know the version of visclip I'm using as there's several (I can try and ask), but its the only commonly found on cre8ive and RealBuilders with the "refresh clips" button, which upon pressing doesn't do anything either.
its gone from this
to this
whether or not this just means that I haven't completely updated it yet I'm not sure, but this seems to be occurring with anything that I've made that has used visclip to slice mesh controllers.
from prop2mesh.
can you add me and send me a dupe please
from prop2mesh.
Okay now old clipped controllers should all load in and convert properly, and the tools all work the same when used on controllers directly.
One last change to add the clips when merging legacy controllers into regular controllers and this issue should be taken care of
