Please check EmbeddedPythonWrapper.py is in the same directory as the executable. For running in embedded mode (i.e. Boris invokes Python), this wrapper file must be present when launching the executable.

Thank you that works, I made a mistake when searching for the file in the project folder and I missed it. Perhaps adding EmbeddedPythonWrapper.py, NetSocks.py and the boris binary to the $PATH as well as making them executable should be included in the make install ?

The release archive, when extracted, has them in the right directory (where executable will be after compilation) - makefile is meant to compile the release archive.
Just a note about embedded mode - there's less feedback in terms of script configuration errors, and matplotlib plots are redirected to png files instead. I'd recommend running scripts from a Python IDE instead (unembedded mode) at first.
