I'm wondering the same thing. I've written the developer twice in the last week or so, with no reply.

I have some ideas to improve the ability to merge maps... but this plugin has not been updated since October 2013. This means not since Freeplane 1.5 was released and I'm not sure it even will work with it. Certainly it didn't work when I tried it (on Ubuntu 16.10).

I've had some ideas for more-stable collaboration that don't use Git. But I do like that Git would enable separate branches per user that get merged as a separate, explicit process. So I have been thinking about small changes to Freeplane's file format that may make it more amenable to more-automated merging.

Hello, sorry, I have just seen that the notification email where arriving in an unread mailbox.

I am not using freeplane into a multi-user context today, so I do not need the plugin anymore. That's why there where no developments for a long time.

I will write on the website that the project is no longer maintened.

Of course you can fork this one if this help to start something new.

If you start a new projet let me know, I will link it from the freeplanecollab.sourceforge.net page.

First of all: thanks @seb4stien for your work.

Just curiosity: do you know usable alternatives to freeplane + this collaborative addon? It would be even better with concurrent editing and targeted at non-technical people?

I'm thinking about storing a .mm file on a shared storage (either synchronously or slightly delayed like Syncthing or Dropbox), but it's probably not reliable because of conflicts, the resolution of which may be cumbersome.

Any suggestion?

I have not use mind mapping tools for a while.
When I developped this addon the only solutions for live collaboration where online solutions.

Shared folders and cloud storage may still work if the document is never modified by many people at the same time.
