I am wondering if there could be some explanation in the documentation for the surrogate proxy improvement. And if this was documented in a paper, perhaps?
This is an implementation details where we remove usually mathematical operations (multiplication, division, addition, etc.) with constant terms. Once we find the split, we compute the true improvement.
I'm -1 with adding this details since it does not impact the end-user.
