It seems what I want here is:

binPack.unsafeDefnSite = Always
binPack.unsafeCallSite = Always

The note in sources " DO NOT USE! This option is buggy for complicated expressions" is a bit scary, though.

i am glad you finally found the parameters you want, although i would have preferred you read the entire section first, before sharing your findings about literals. or, in fact, read the entire documentation, before opening these two issues.

The note in sources " DO NOT USE! This option is buggy for complicated expressions" is a bit scary, though.

because these options increase the complexity of an already complicated task, and perhaps because these options were contributed and not as thoroughly tested.
