v241 faulty call to dll still present - MAJOR (cfr below) about sbfspot HOT 8 CLOSED

dear all, be aware that for windows users (not validated for Linux)

if you execute SMAspot v240-rc4203 from CommandLine (eg Dos-box; Command-Box)
then you need to apply a workarond for tjhe addressing of the files:

SMAspot does assume that the following files are preceeded with "SMAspot.exe"

workaround is to make a copie and rename the following files
SMAspot.cfg -> SMAspot.exeSAMspot.cfg
date_time_zonespec.csv -> SMAspot.exedate_time_zonespec.csv
TagListEN-US.txt -> SMAspot.exeTagListEN-US.txt (idem for the others)

SMASpot is running :-)
But it does not detect my PowerInverter. SunnyExplorer is able to connect. And SMASpot 2.2.10 on my PI can fetch data.

dear rene, i do not have speedwire in my install,
since we do refer to two distinct machines (and software)
one needs step-step elemination

be aware that v2210 did use broadcast technique to identify the ip-adrress of the inverter
with v.240 and v.2211 one can specify a fixed adress
from the log-file of v240 i assume that you introduced a fixed IP address in v240-cfg file
AVOID TO MIX THESE TWO TECHNIQUES
please (as a test) set the ip address to 0.0.0.0 in the 240 cfg file (this selects broadcast)

since it might be that this is is an issue - related to the v240 software - speedwire
in my install: ms-windows - v240 and BT SMAspot is operational

??? is it possible for you to use the windows version v.2.2.10 on your windows machine
(if you did not yet do before)

note that since a while you can use SMAspot in parallel from two different systems
do not use v.2211 for this test because that one provides the option fixed ip-address

SMAspot.exe should be in the "allowed" list

dear all,

the problem reported on v240 about the faulty call for dll mscvp100 is again present in the new release 241,
the v240 workaround will fix the issue,
the workaround can be installed if the PC-machine is internet connected,
if you do use a stand-alone system the packages v240 and v241 are incomplete and can not be used

You need to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
Can be downloaded from here
The separate dll's are removed from the windows SMAspot distribution as it is not the correct method. The official MS runtime package installs the runtime dll's in the right folder (sytem32)
