I believe I did that, I've removed 50-synaptics.conf from
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ directory and restarted Xorg... Here is the full
ouput of Xorg.log.

Thanks a lot for any hint in advance.

Cheers,
Tomas

After some attempts, nothing has really changed. I only discovered that clicking on touchpad works (left-mouse click), also I noticed the "trackball" in the middle of the keyboard works, but the touchpad does not. I simply cannot move the cursor with touchpad....

Does anyone have any idea, please? The reason why I want to use mtrack is to setup click with middle button (by touching the touchpad with two fingers).

It's not a capacitive touchpad so your performance will be poor at best. You can try adjusting the pressure thresholds to make the pad more sensitive but you'll never get performance approaching that of the Apple trackpads or the touchscreens on mobile devices.

Do you mean that this hardware will not work well with xf86-input-mtrack
and that I should better move to xf86-input-synaptics?

In general, my problem is how to copy & paste a text from one window to
another. For pasting, I normally use middle button, but I don't know how
to do it with synaptics, that's why I wanted to try mtrack....

Can you please give more details?

Thanks a lot,
Tomas

If your only issue is button mappings then I suggest you take a look at the options in the readme. There are a couple of different ways to emulate right and middle clicks. These include button zones and two and three finger tapping.
